On October 18th, International Contemporary Ensemble founder and flutist Claire Chase performed at (Le) Poisson Rouge in celebration of the release of her first solo album, aliento.

Chase has demonstrated a passionate commitment to new music through her collaborations, premieres, workshops and recordings. Founded in 2001 and comprising an ensemble of 30 musicians, ICE has also quickly become a fixture of the new music scene through its adventurous programming, commissioning of young, experimental composers, and embrace of new venues and audiences.

aliento features world premiere recordings from Jason Eckardt, Dai Fujikura, Edgar Guzmán, Marcelo Toledo and ICE composers Nathan Davis, Du Yun. Hear selections now as performed live by Claire Chase.
