This past March, The University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory brought the music of its award-winning faculty to (Le) Poisson Rouge for Crossroads - a concert uniting Eastern and Western traditions with UMKC Conservatory composers, laureates and students. 

With a sustained focus on the cause of 21st century classical music, UMKC Conservatory boasts a prominent and eclectic composition faculty, including 2011 Pulitzer Prize-winner Zhou Long; his wife, the equally decorated composer, Chen Yi; 2010 Rome Prize Fellow Paul Rudy; Narong Prangcharoen, a young Thai composer garnering international attention; and many more. 

In addition to featuring many pieces seldom heard in New York City, this show also presents the New York premiere of excerpts from Zhou's Pulitzer Prize-winning opera, Madame White Snake.
