Daring to be different, the Leipzig String Quartet is hailed for their stand-out sound and wildly diverse repertoire. In this February 3 concert at (Le) Poisson Rouge, the ensemble is joined by the equally seasoned and forward-thinking jazz musicians Steve Wilson and Pete Malinverni to juxtapose the movements of Joseph Haydn's Seven Last Words of Christ on the Cross with improvisations based on Haydn's themes.

On October 18th, International Contemporary Ensemble founder and flutist Claire Chase performed at (Le) Poisson Rouge in celebration of the release of her first solo album, aliento.

On November 30th, 2009, composer and percussionist John Hollenbeck launched the first in a series of live Q2 webcasts from Greenwich Village’s (Le) Poisson Rouge with an ambitious, kinetic performance of music from his new CD.

On November 8th, 2009 at Le Poisson Rouge, Radiolab’s Jad Abumrad hosted a concert and CD launch party for In C Remixed – an ambitious project from Bill Ryan and his Grand Valley State University New Music Ensemble in which composers such as David Lang, Nico Muhly, Mason Bates, and DBR paid homage to the defining moment in 1964, when Terry Riley’s In C premiered.
