On Saturday, December 17, we followed composer Phil Kline and hundreds of revelers for the 20th anniversary installment of Unsilent Night -- a 45-minute mobile sound sculpture that weaves through New York's East Village every holiday season.
Phil Kline also dropped by the WQXR studios recently to speak with Q2 Music host Nadia Sirota about the impetus behind Unsilent Night, as well as the world premiere of his next participatory, boombox-piece, Peregrine (Dec. 21 in Brooklyn), and his more classically-focused writing for string quartet and voice.
