I donate on line, for WQXR, WNYC, WPRB, WBGO, WKCR, and KBEM. I have never been solicited. I have not received any email that I did not request.
If i knew that my credit card information wasnt going to be used to put me on a mailing list to solicit me for more donations all year, i would donate on line. I donate once a year. I dont want to receive weekly emails or monthly mailings and pleas.
I love the mobile app, the saturday operas and the concerts. The annual countdown on New Years weekend is wonderful.
My other options are pandora and sirius radio and they dont ask for donations. Maybe if you made an announcement on radio that the contact info from phone and credit card donations permits you to opt out of all future communication, others, like I, donate in the moment. Instead i have to wait to get a check in the mail.
