Paola Prestini's Last Hymn

Italian-born composer Paola Prestini is the director and founder of the non-profit interdisciplinary collective, VisionIntoArt. Her music has been performed throughout the United States and abroad at such venues as Lincoln Center to the Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. and the Palazzo Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Trento, Italy. Listen to her piece Last Hymn for clarinet, cello, vibes and laptop. Featured here are clarinetist Richard Mannoia, vibraphone player Yuri Yamashita, and cellist Claire Bryant. Recorded live in the Jerome L. Greene space on May 27th 2009.

I just ran into the music of Paola Prestini from WQXR's facebook - how intriguing and beautiful. I love the multi-layered, multi-media approach. Quite intriguing...I'll look out for more.
