Love and passion--from the 15th Century! For Valentine's Day early music duo Asteria performs 15th Century Burgundian love songs in the WQXR studio.
Singer Sylvia Rhyne and singer/lutenist Eric Redlinger join host David Garland to talk about the medieval "courtly love" tradition, what life was like in the Burgundy courts, how the expression of love has and hasn't changed through the centuries, and Asteria's own modern love story.
