In this, the first of five installments of WQXR's special series, "Debussy and the Piano," David Dubal presents a vintage recording of Debussy playing from the Children’s Corner Suite, an explanation of why Debussy wasn’t a fan of Beethoven, and an exploration on how France and French culture influenced his aesthetic.

Great episodes, however he has the worst (and incorrect) pronunciation of French words. At least learn how to correctly say the names of pieces!
Fantastic to hear David Dubal's programs again. I missed his shows since he left the station.

We love hearing the return of his most wonderful voice introducing/discussing the ever beautiful piano pieces. We look forward to hearing his voice on a regular basis. When will you bring his popular "Reflection from the keyboard"???
