New Year's Day from Vienna 2013

The Vienna Philharmonic greets the New Year with its annual concert from the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. The venerable concert – which features popular pieces the Strauss family and contemporaries -- begins at 11 am ET.
The New Year's concert is one of the largest global events in classical music, reaching people through radio and television in 81 countries. Conductor Franz Welser-Möst, the general music director of the Vienna State Opera and music director of the Cleveland Orchestra, leads the concert.
