Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says there aren't any plans to send U.S. troops to Chile to help keep order or distribute aid.

Clinton made an impromptu visit to the country today, as aftershocks continue to roll through the area. Clinton delivered more than two dozen satellite phones. 

Clinton says the U.S. is "ready to help in any way" in the aftermath of Saturday's devastating earthquake and plans to deliver a field hospital and other supplies in coming days.

Chilean officials said the death toll has reached 795 and The New York Times reports that damage estimates have gone higher than $30 billion.

Chilean President Michele Bachelet met with Clinton and said her country faces a tough and expensive rebuilding effort.

“Chile has the capacity, but I think it’s going to take a long time and it will mean a whole lot of money,” Bachelet says.
