Rahm Emanuel Fights for Mayoral Candidacy in Chicago

Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has taken his fight to keep his name on the ballot for Chicago's mayoral election to the Illinois Supreme Court.
President Obama's former right-hand man filed an appeal with the state's highest court Tuesday, challenging a previous lower court ruling that argued he violated the state's one-year residency requirement for candidates, according to the Associated Press.
The Illinois Supreme Court barred the election board from printing ballots without Emanuel's name on them, the AP reported.
Emanuel left his job at the White House in October with Obama's well-wishes. He then announced his intention to run for mayor of his hometown of Chicago. The city's mayoral election is Feb. 22.
