Naomi Lewin, WQXR Host
Naomi Lewin is the weekday afternoon host on WQXR, and the host of WQXR’s bi-weekly podcast Conducting Business. Before arriving at WQXR, Lewin was the midday host at WGUC, Cincinnati’s classical public radio station.
What does the City sound like...in pictures? Friday, July 23rd is the last day to show us. WQXR's Jerome L. Greene Space is holding a contest called "Making Visible the Invisible," looking for photos that portray the sound of New York.
If that seems impossible, just think of all the composers who captured visual images in music: Ottorino Respighi's Three Botticelli Pictures, Claude Debussy's Estampes (Woodcuts), and of course Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.
So quick--get out your camera, figure out how to make visible the invisible, and upload the results here.
Also, I'd like to know your favorite spots in the City, sound and all--places that are not on the usual visitor's agenda. Brighton Beach? Sunnyside? Governor's Island? Any and all suggestions welcome!

Keep playing the beautiful music.
This photo contest is a great idea.
