Don't Miss: Family Concert - Sounds of Nature, August 14
The Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival was founded in 1984 by the flutist Marya Martin, and it has become the longest-running summer music series on the East End. The festival’s 27th season offers nearly four weeks of performances, including some of the best family concerts around. Check out “Sounds of Nature,” a program highlighting Bartók’s Mosquito Dance, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee, Stravinsky’s Circus Polka and Saint-Saëns’s Carnival of the Animals (with narrator Alan Alda). As the program notes point out, the program is crafted to appeal to younger listeners as well as more experienced concertgoers.
