What has happened to Piano Puzzler? -- best show on radio!
I agree with the others. How could you rob us of the all too brief Early Music show on Sundays? I always want MORE early music. I loved "early music" long before Fifty Shades made it fashionable. I wondered what had happened to the programming yesterday. I am also one of the many who waits with baited breath for the Piano Puzzler every week. It makes my Sunday evening chores much more palatable. I hope these comments get to SOMEBODY at the station.
P.s. to my earlier comment.
The question is what was gained by the schedule change on Sundays from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.? As noted by Lois P., we actually LOST an hour of early music, which before we had for two hours, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm; we now have but one hour of such music, under the not-so-inviting title of Old School.
And we lost From the Top and Performance Today--with the latter's delightful Piano Puzzler!
We will have to repeat our complaints by emailing the station, since, again as Lois P. points out, the way comments are now arranged on this website, our comments will most likely go unread by those who schedule the programming.
Although I do enjoy David Garland's programs and his musical taste, I agree heartily with AF above. First of all, the extra hour of David Garland is paid for by a loss of one hour of early music, as his old two-hour program from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sundays has been reduced to one hour between 9 and 10 p.m. Although his other two hours are informed by his good taste, that does not compensate for the loss. I also wish that his extra hour did not come at the expense of the other enjoyable programs mentioned by AF, From the Top and Performance Today. Not only are they on extremely early in the morning on a day that most people are sleeping while they are on, but they are off-limits to Orthodox Jews who may not listen to music on Saturdays - that means me.
Furthermore, the way that feedback is organized on this site, it seems to me that our complaints will never be seen, as they are buried under the headings of individual playlists that perhaps have not much bearing on what we are talking about.
I am very upset that From the Top and Performance Today (the latter with the wonderful weekly Piano Puzzler) have been moved from their Sunday early evening time slots to 6:00 and 7:00 A.M. Saturday respectively (A.M.?!?!?!). Who on earth is going to listen at that early hour? I really looked forward to and always enjoyed those two programs on Sunday evening!
Fortunately, From the Top is also aired on WWFM (89.9 HD2 in NYC) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays, but that station does not carry Performance Today, in my opinion the better of those two syndicated programs.
And who is doing the programming here for David Garland? Is this always going to be (yawn) "quiet time," as David put it. At this rate the listeners will all be put to sleep by the time they get to his new show at 9:00 p.m. (I think called Old School).
