Why on earth (or my first instinct: in hell) am I listening to masses and requiems on December 31st? This is not a religious holiday, or am I burying 2013? The year will not be missed by me! I am celebrating a NEW year, and I hope a better one!
Happy New Year to all!

I agree. This is the MOST AWFUL version of Bach's Mass in B minor I have ever heard. IT is dry, soulless, passionless.
I have never been motivated to write into WQXR before, but the fury I'm in over this terrible (and unbearably long dreary) version here has motivated me.
Don Giovanni gets a 4 minute duet, and then this: shameful!

Who in Heaven's name chose this specific recording of the Mass in B Minor of Bach's? Quick, before you get to the 2nd half of it, do change it to a really live recording. Never, in all my years have I heard this beautiful mass so absolutely dead. There is no life to it whatsoever. Oh, the notes are being played, but there is NO life to the entire performance. What a shame. Frankly, I think it is disgraceful for anyone to even think of playing this ..... this... i can't even think of another word at the moment except this pathetic version of one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed.
Oops, I missed you. Pity. now one either has to listen to it or turn the radio off.

Wish you hadn't chosen the Mass in B Minor with a counter tenor....that head voice is so false(etto) to me. Give me a bone fide mezzo any day. But adore your morning show, my grousing notwithstanding.

Happy New Year.
