Hmmm. The "Gazza ladra" overture. If I were given to sarcasm I would say something about how rarely we hear this in the Rossini overture hit parade. Overtures, of course, were not what made Rossini's operas so successful, it was the vocal writing. Other than "Una voce poco fa", we hear virtually no Rossini vocal music on this increasingly monotonous station. This is in addition to the failure of the station to play longer works during peak listening hours. Too many Lincoln commercials to get in?

Makes my day! Looking for longer pieces, whole symphonies, whole rondos, etc.
