Well Mary for Teaneck you know how I feel as an organist hearing the many organ pieces transcribed to other instruments or orchestra, especially the St Anne Prelude and Fugue which is magnificent on organ (E Power Biggs, Bach at Zwolle). Yes the transcription was very good (Stravinsky) and Bach can be played on almost all instruments or combinations thereof, but in a birthday tribute to him I agree, we ought stick to the original performance arrangements of the Herr Kapellmeister.

Would be nice you have then following selection of the one playing listed a bit before getting to it so we know what to expect.

Having sung "Sheep May Safely Graze" a number of times - and considering it was originally written for soprano solo - why don't you ever play a recording of it with soprano solo? Not even during the Bach event? Very disappointing.
