Whether or not you set out cookies and milk for Santa Claus, Christmas is the most frantic yet joyous holiday of the year.
In Caracas Venezuela, leading up to Christmas, the streets are closed off to cars as roller skaters take over. In Japan, instead of turkey and ham, people buy buckets of fried chicken. Here in New York, Christmas just ain't Christmas without the stunning display of lights and the huge tree at Rockefeller Center.
This season is also a frantic and joyous time for musicians. And not all of it has anything to do with the real meaning of Christmas. In this program we hear music written for the season and music that has a seasonal feel. We begin with Leontyne Price singing “Sweet li’l Jesus Boy" and end the program with Aaron Copland’s Our Town. In between: loads of holiday cheer.

"... Three Nights Before Christmas," December 22nd.'s programme, is STILL unavailable for streaming? Please - what's wrong? I love listening to WQXR, especially on Saturday nights, and want to stream the programmes later to listen to them, it's been a desert lately!

More Terrance!!!!
There is nothing like Terrance's show anywhere and it's something that set NYC public radio apart. There was always something new or a new way of listening to what he selected.
I have recently come back to the city after being away for a couple of years and am really sad that Terrance no longer has a show nightly like he did on WNYC.
Please, at least make his past shows accessible to download.

You may be expressing noble sentiments but, broadcasting on Public Radio, don't you have a responsibility not to murder our language?

I second Frank Jackson's questions/thoughts. I keep finding certain programmes are not available for listening, even days after the broadcast. For instance, I am trying to stream Saturday, December 22nd.'s programme and so far, no availability. What is the deal here? Frustrating!

Somehow we lost track of your show, but we went searching for you during the holidays and were relieved to be able to hear your holiday broadcasts. Nobody presents the same thoughtful eclectic mix that you do. Listening to the Moorehouse-Spellman glee clubs on NPR. we miss your insights.

programs have complete archives.what gives.
