Fall Theater Preview: Off-Broadway Highlights and Revivals Galore
Friday, October 07, 2011
In this week's Arts File, Kerry Nolan speaks with Ben Brantley, chief theater critic for the New York Times, about the fall theater season. On Broadway, there's David Henry Hwang's new work "Chinglish," a new production of "Porgy and Bess," and a reimagining of the night before Martin Luther King Jr.'s death called "The Mountaintop," starring Samuel L. Jackson and Angela Bassett, among others. Some critics say the highlights are off Broadway this year. Brantley weighs in on a production of Kurt Weill's "Threepenny Opera" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and many more fall must-sees.
