Q2 brings you the opening night concert of New York's 2010 Look and Listen Festival, recorded live May 7 at the Chelsea Art Museum. WNYC's John Schaefer hosts the concert, featuring music by Q2 composer portraits' Missy Mazzoli and Caleb Burhans, as well as Carlos Sánchez-Gutiérrez, Hannah Lash and the revered John Corigliano. The impressive roster of performers includes eighth blackbird, the JACK Quartet, and pianist Jade Simmons.
Since 2002, the Look & Listen Festival has been presenting high-caliber performances of new music in art galleries, simultaneously stimulating eyes and ears. Prior to each concert, cutting edge ambient and electronica works are presented and the evenings also feature informal chats between host and composers. This year's festival was well received by audiences and critics alike.
