This week, we play music creatively suggested by our colleagues at radio stations around the world.

I would love to hear a program of great opera choruses. My personal favorite is The Easter Hymn from Cavelleria Rusticana. Given the right soprano, this piece never fails to give me goose bumps!

I very much enjoy your program and your incisive comments. I used to go to bed at 11pm (NY time), but now I retire at midnight. All the best for continued success.

Aha! I have unwittingly been listening to Sibelius' 2nd for over 12 years now. . . This has been the "hold" music on Columbia University's phone lines since I was an undergrad at the College starting in 1995. As an employee up until 2007, this same music has been greeting my ears anytime I had to wait to get through to my desired party at the other end. Alas, I had reason to call the University just last month; Sibelius' 2nd is gone. An era has passed, apparently. Thanks WQXR for reminding me of my Columbia years, and for solving the mystery of "what is the music Columbia phones are playing?"

Thanks for the Exploring Music website. "Spiegel im Spiegel" was lovely, and now I know who the composer and performers were.
