In reviewing Markus Groh's interpretation of the Liszt Sonata in B Minor, Piano News magazine wrote that it was "an absolutely extraordinary and fascinating reading," going on to call Groh "phenomenal." The German pianist brings his acclaimed version of the Liszt to the stage of the Frick Collection, in a program that also includes works by Schulhoff, Ligeti, and Ginastera.

This French piano trio make their New York recital debut on this Concert from the Frick Collection. Their name is an homage to Franz Schubert, but they also consider themselves musical travelers, exploring the musical world, spanning the centuries from Mozart and Haydn to nowadays. The Trio Wanderer plays works by Mendelssohn, Liszt and Ravel.

Tenor Rufus Müller and guitarist Stephen Marchionda play a program of Dowland, Purcell, Britten and Schubert. The Washington Post has called Marchionda "versatile” and “full of artistry and confidence” and Müller has been reviewed as “brilliant” and “technically masterful”. They perform together for the first time.

Pianist Alain Planès is a veteran musician but gives his New York recital debut at this Concert from the Frick Collection. In their review of this concert, the New York Times said it was a “sumptuous palate of colors and textures.” Planès plays works by Debussy, Janacek, Haydn and Schubert.

Violinist Vadim Gluzman will play the New York premiere of a work by composer Lera Auerbach on this Concert from the Frick Collection. Gluzman opens this concert at the Frick Collection with PAR.TI.TA which is Auerbach’s tribute to Bach and written for Vadim Gluzman. Gluzman and his wife, Angela Yoffe also perform works by Beethoven, Ysaye, Rota and Ravel before a live audience at the Frick Collection.
