The Furthermore

Airs Saturdays at 9 pm and Wednesdays at 10 pm on WQXR.

For more than three decades, WNYC host John Schaefer’s New Sounds has been a cherished destination for musically omnivorous listeners. On WQXR, Schaefer will extend his deep musical expertise and diverse tastes to WQXR with the debut of a new weekly program, The Furthermore.

On The Furthermore, Schaefer will take listeners on an expansive musical expedition; each episode will begin with a piece of standard classical repertoire and in a few turns take listeners on an exciting tour of sometimes surprising, always compelling music. Playing with the boundaries of classical music, The Furthermore will welcome listeners into a world where the next great discovery is never more than a few minutes away.
