Sleeping Giant Awakening: A December Focus on Keyboard Repertoire with the Composer Collective
This month New York-based composer collective Sleeping Giant takes up residence on Hammered!. From December 5 though December 30, composers Timothy Andres, Christopher Cerrone, Jacob Cooper, Ted Hearne, Robert Honstein and Andrew Norman offer a dynamic range of new works for keyboard. Highlights include Mondays hosted by Timothy Andres, spoken introductions from the composers, downloads of in-concert recordings and exciting, new performance videos.

The pieces in Email Songs take their cue from a collection of over 100 emails a friend of mine received in error. The emails had been sent to a man with the same name as my friend and contained a meticulous record of every communication this person had sent or received within a popular dating site.

Named for the state park in Hamden, CT near Yale University frequented by a professor of theirs, Sleeping Giant is a collective of five young, Yale educated, up-and-coming composers, including Timothy Andres, Ted Hearne, Jacob Cooper, Christopher Cerrone and Robert Honstein.
