Alexandre Desplat has rapidly become one of the busiest film score composers. He can deliver sophistication, as he did in The King's Speech, rollicking fun, as in Fantastic Mr. Fox, and brooding drama, as in Twilight: New Moon. Host David Garland presents a range of this multi-facited composer's work.

Fascinating show and such rich and beautiful music. Like the other posters I enjoyed learning about this composer. A frequent listener and fan of Movies on the Radio.
.......Thank You!.....This show was fascinating!.....I did not know of this composer......I appreciate that he has a "melodic" sense as well as skill in "atmosphere"......
.....I also appreciate that I can hear the show Sunday morning now that you set up the listening option Saturday night.
.............Many Thanks!.......
Oooooh! I love these Saturday nights with Movies on the Radio and then All Ears with Terrance McKnight.
I enjoyed last night's show so much. Thank you very much.
Although one comment you mentioned pertained to differences between Desplat's musical pieces and the absence of a common "sound," I did think some pieces had similar pacing and a similarity in the almost "agitated" tone and pace of instruments in parts of them.
Loved listening to the music and hearing about Desplat.
This is terrific! I am enjoying this show, and would like to explore more of Desplat's work.
Thanks for bringing him to my attention.
enjoying Alexandre while I'm painting - I do watercolors and the music is moving my brush ...very nice
