The New York Philharmonic presents an assortment of listener favorites in this week's broadcast.

Yet far from a routine run-through of pieces by Beethoven, Bernstein and Falla, the performance, recorded last October, reveals the growing bond between the musicians and their new music director Alan Gilbert. Emanuel "Manny" Ax is the soloist in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3, delivering his customary poise and polish.

Program Details:

Alan Gilbert, conductor

Emanuel Ax, piano

Beethoven: Egmont Overture

Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 3

Bernstein: Symphonic Dances from West Side Story

Falla: Three Cornered Hat, Suite No. 2
