On-Demand Audio: The Brooklyn Philharmonic's Season Preview
Recorded at the World Financial Center Winter Garden
Thursday, October 25, 2012
On Thursday, Oct. 25 at 8 pm ET, Q2 Music partners with New Sounds Live to present a live webcast of the season-opening concert of the dynamic Brooklyn Philharmonic. This is the last of three shows from October 23-25 from the World Financial Center's Winter Garden hosted by WNYC's John Schaefer.
Under the direction of Alan Pierson, the 155-year-old orchestra that's been reinvented as a borough-wide touring ensemble offers Winter Garden audiences a sneak preview into its much-anticipated, upcoming season. The Brooklyn Phil Chamber Players will play works by Brooklyn composers Matt Marks, Tim Fite and Ted Hearne and will be joined by the steel-pan band Pan Sonatas Steel Orchestra, a 41-year-old Brooklyn institution, to play new compositions by Chris Cerrone and Kendall Williams.
