Friday is the 67th birthday of Itzhak Perlman, the Israeli-born violinist, teacher and conductor. We marked the occasion by giving you a choice of one of his three celebrated recordings of the standard concerto repertoire: the Beethoven, Brahms and Barber Violin Concertos.
You voted for the Beethoven Concerto, which beat the Barber by just two votes. We played it today at 12 noon.
The winning recording: Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61 (Philharmonia Orchestra/Carlo Maria Giulini, conductor)
