Thursday is Maurice Ravel’s 138th birthday, so today we're tipping our hat to this master composer. We asked you to tell us whether you'd like to hear Ravel's music for string quartet, piano or the ballet, and we played the winner at noon.

I voted for the piano concerto in G because it is one of the 20th century piano masterpieces. I reflects he spirit of the 20th century with its flavor of modernity as well as respect for the past. And M. Argerich is the perfect pianist for this Piece. She has the fire needed and he ability to do it justice.
The string quartet is one of the most haunting and beautiful string quartets! Right up there with Faure's, Debussy's & Janaceks. Play it, and I'll put off lunch!
Thanks!
I voted for the string quartet simply because I haven't heard it in a long, long time. All of the selections are worthwhile however and I will be pleased to hear whichever one wins. Happy birthday, Maurice!
Please, the Daphnis and Chloe piece, we need some rousing music at lunchtime - and who is a better "rouser" than Maurice Ravel.
Please play the Ravel piano selection in memory of the Joseph H. Plon a great American piano teacher who students won top honors at Mokwan College, Taejon South Korea
Please play Ravel piano selection at high noon. Love WQXR!
