The new Coen brothers' film "True Grit" is the latest of their many collaborations with composer Carter Burwell, and it's one of their best. The older, 1969 movie version of "True Grit" featured one of the best of several scores Elmer Bernstein composed for star John Wayne. Host David Garland offers highlights from both True Grits, plus more music from westerns, conveying a sense of determination, possibility, and adventure.
