Broadway Bands Take the Stage

Broadway crowds might be flocking to the theater to see big stars, but it's increasingly common for the musical's band to be onstage as well. As orchestras shrink and rock music finds its way to Broadway, shows are placing musicians formerly tucked into an orchestra pit in full view.

In this week's Arts File, Kerry Nolan speaks to New York Post theater critic Elisabeth Vincentelli about the benefits and drawbacks to having Broadway bands on the stage.
