Young with unstoppable talent. That is, quite simply, the theme of this week's program, true to the focus of the radio series when it first launched in January 1978. It also is a guiding focus of the New York Youth Symphony, which itself was founded in 1963 and continues to turn out fresh-faced performers.

This week on the show, we open and close our listening with performances by the Youth Symphony. In the middle -- a visit to the Mannes College International Keyboard Institute and Festival to hear pianist Einav Yarden. A winner of the prestigious Honens Competition in Canada, Yarden is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory.

Verdi - La Forza del Destino, Overture, performed by the New York Youth Symphony, conducted by Ryan McAdams

Stravinsky - Sonata, 1924, performed by Einav Yarden, piano

Respighi - The Pines of Rome, performed by the New York Youth Symphony, conducted by Ryan McAdams
