In this episode of the Young Artist Showcase, we return to performances by pianist Einav Yarden and the New York Youth Symphony, both recently featured on the Showcase. This episode is an opportunity to delve more deeply into the "missing pieces" we were not able to air the first time around.

Yarden, who made her WQXR debut 11 years ago, is now a fixture on the recital, chamber music and festival scenes. In this return to her performance last summer at Mannes College, Yarden delivers two short rondos in F and G major respectively by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, followed by Prokofiev's Opus 24 Sonata. When Yarden performed the Prokofiev in Paris recently, critic Francis Albou hailed her interpretation as "impeccable" and "incandescent."

Also on this show, we return to the New York Youth Symphony-- a group that ranges in age from 12 to, at the oldest, 22. In this edition of the Young Artist Showcase, we hear the Symphony draw out an assured and mature performance of Strauss' Don Juan, under the leadership of rising conductor Ryan McAdams.
