Daniel Harding Conducts Mahler's Fourth
Thursday, March 17, 2011
Before English conductor Daniel Harding's trip to the natural-disaster ravaged land of Japan for an engagement with the New Japan Philharmonic, he took up the baton with the New York Philharmonic. He leads Scottish soprano Lisa Milne through Mahler's vision of heaven as seen by a child in his Symphony No. 4. Also, concertmaster Glenn Dicterow brings Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1 to life in his annual solo feature with the orchestra.
