ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (Christina Jensen)

WQXR presents a special evening of live performance and conversation with Simone Dinnerstein and members of ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble, on Friday, January 29 at 7PM.

During this live performance, Ms. Dinnerstein and ACME will preview their upcoming spring tour, performing a suite of works by Bach and John Cage:

Bach: Keyboard Concerto in D Minor, first movement
Cage: String Quartet, excerpt
Bach: Selected Prelude & Fugue
Bach: Selections from Art of the Fugue
Bach: Keyboard Concerto in F Minor

Throughout the performance, Ms. Dinnerstein and ACME will join in conversation with WQXR host David Garland.

Hey Mike, I'm here listening to a rehearsal of the Cage right now and it's really pretty stuff. Maybe give it a try! You might be pleasantly surprised.

Actually, if they perform 4:33, Cage's most listenable piece, it would be fine. Otherwise, Far, Far Away is the best choice.
