In the first installment of our new show Around Broadway, Jeff Spurgeon discusses the new Broadway play “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” with The New York Times theater critic Charles Isherwood. The show addresses the Iraq war and the more general repercussions of unleashing violence through the moral conscience of a tiger, played by Robin Williams. Thanks for adding the Charles Isherwood feature. Not only have I enjoyed hearing him & Mr. Brantley on WQXR over the years -- way back I couldn't wait for "Mel Gussow on Theater" to air. WQXR and theater are intricately linked.

Charles Isherwood's comments about the Broadway theatre are always informative and welcome. It is good to hear his voice.
