Tonight’s program provides a sneak peek of an upcoming performance violinist Asi Matathias will give on April 21 at Weill Hall, a part of Riyo's Salon Concert. He is joined tonight by pianist Tatiana Goncharova. Both artists have performed extensively around the world and we’re thrilled to hear them here in New York for this special performance.

Matathias made his debut at 14 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta. An impressed Mehta, describing the young musician as “extremely musical, sensitive and technically accurate,” invited Matathias to solo with the IPO the following season.

Matathias has since performed with orchestras in Europe and recorded with the BBC, the Austrian Radio, and the Israel Broadcasting Authority.

Russian-born pianist Tatiana Goncharova made her debut with Minsk Philharmonic at the age of ten. She has performed around the world in concert venues and recital halls in the U.S., South America, Europe and Asia.

Goncharova is a founding member of the TAGI ensemble (formerly known as the New York Lyric Chamber Players). As if she needed to further prove her international chops, Goncharova is on the faculty of Pinchas Zukerman’s National Arts Center in Canada, the Manhattan School of Music and the Zukerman Performance Program.
