I am so unbelievably proud of Q2. This week marks our first ever pledge drive! (The public radio geek in me is pretty blissed-out by this, btw.) This is your chance to show how much New Music means to you!

To boot, this week the show is chock-full of special guests! That's right, a full docket of fab radio people to help get out the awesome Q2 message. Our first guest will be the original Maestro of New Music Radio, John Schaefer, host of Soundcheck and New Sounds on WNYC and many-a Q2 live concert.

Where else but Q2 can you find passionately-curated music, interviews and rep tours with era-defining composers and performers, and unlimited on-demand access to incredible live events from New York? As we enter our first fund drive, I am so excited to build the Q2 community! Help us prove that New Music is not a luxury, it's a necessity. And Q2 is not merely new music, it's part of a historical moment. We are the future or Classical Music!

Also, ahem, we have these awesome buttons. Not gonna lie, they are pretty snazzy. And they are yours for a pledge of literally any amount. Twenty bucks? BOOM. Button. Five hundred? Button sauce. You see how it works.

Anyway, as I said before, I'm so proud of us. Let's make this count!

Here is another question: I heard someone pitching on WNYC say that there is no way to measure how many listeners are listening on line (or podcasts, etc), just FM can be measured.

So, how does NYPR arrive at the size of the listenership for Q2?

Fantastic, Richard, good job with the pledge! #youHeartQ2. :-) Nice stuff on the Monk performance on your blog, btw, too, just getting around to subscribing to your blog. Go forth and multiply (as in tell other folks to pledge at any amount. It's as much a vote of we're-out-here support as the value of the bucks. Cheers!

Go for it, Richard, the button is quite cool and it's time to let the WQXR Mothership know we support Q2! :-)

We are one big happy family, but yes, by clicking on the link in this page and donating (and selecting your Q2 button if you wish!) you are affirming your wish to thank Q2 specifically in your pledge and to be a member in and contributor to Q2's ongoing programming and philosophy.

I saw it written somewhere or heard it said that we can direct our pledge to the support specifically of Q2. If that is correct, let me know. I am already a $100/yr member of WNYC and a $100/yr member of WQXR only because of Q2, so, like, I do not need to make another pledge.

But, if it was going to Q2, to which I listen, then I would direct a new membership in place of the WQXR membership. I cannot remember the last time I listened to 105.9.
