One must listen to Rheingold, I suppose, to appreciate the stupefying masterpiece which is Gotterdammerung. Nothing particularly human in it, just sermons and political screeds. Compare with Act 1 Walkure!

The Ring is all about the seven deadly sins and more. Greed, Incest, Fratricide, Murder, Interspecies Sex, Date Rape, etc. Some states wanted to implement censorship(?) laws. These laws would have made the Bible and the Ring operas against the law. Oh I cannot wait for the music of the Entry of the Gods into Valhalla. Wow. Nice singing so far.

The opera just started, and sounds great so far...but you failed to credit the baritone singing the role of Donner, whose summoning of the mists conjures the rainbow bridge for the entrance of teh gods into Valhalla. A pretty significant moment in the opera and an egregious omission!
