President Barack Obama makes a statement about progress with congressional leadership regarding the ongoing debt ceiling talks on July 29, 2011 at the White House.

David Sanger, chief Washington correspondent for the New York Times, joins Kerry Nolan to discuss the debt-limit deal reached last night between President Barack Obama and the Republican-led House. The deal is easing fears of a default which could have sent the economy into a recession. Sanger says that this same deal could have been made much earlier, and that much of this deal is simply putting off the debate until later.
