On this edition of the McGraw-Hill Companies Young Artists Showcase, an in-studio performance by the pianist Charlie Albright, a 2009 Young Concert Artist Competition winner and 2010 Gilmore Young Artist recipient.

Having performed duets and chamber music on multiple occasions with such artists as cellist Yo-Yo Ma (thrice) and such groups as the Silk Road Project (twice), Albright has performed or competed across the United States, France, Australia, Norway, and Portugal. Just last week he was named Artist in Residence for Harvard University's Leverett House for 2011-2012.

I know this guy! He's from a town twenty miles south of where I'm from in Washington State. I saw him perform with the Olympia Symphony (from my hometown) years ago when he was still very young. Though he still is very young...
