This week, From the Top comes to you from the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Mass., where an outstanding teenage quartet from Boston performs the music of Edvarg Grieg, a teen from Illinois plays a tarantella by Karol Szymanowski and a gifted 8-year-old pianist plays Debussy.

Pianist Gavin George, 8, from Granville, OH, perfoms V. The Little Shepherd and I. Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum from Children’s Corner by Claude Debussy.
Formation Quartet (violinist Hikaru Yonezaki, 15, from Newton, MA; violinist Ruby Mercure, 17, from Andover, MA; violist Thomas Wong, 16, from Lexington, MA; cellist Victor Huls, 17, from Jacksonville, FL) performs I. Un poco andante – Allegro molto ed agitato String Quartet in G minor, Op.27 by Edvard Grieg.
Flutist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Ryan Norville, 17, from Fort Myers, FL performs Fantaisie brillante on Bizet’s Carmen by François Borne.
Violinist Stephanie Zyzak, 17, from Barrington, IL, performs Tarantella from Nocturne and Tarantella, Op. 28 by Karol Szymanowski.
