Cora Burggraaf

Born in the Netherlands, mezzo-soprano Cora Burggraaf studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and at the Benjamin Britten International Opera School at  the Royal College of Music in London.

In recent seasons she has performed with orchestras in oratorios and concertos in Europe and the United Kingdomand on the European Continent.  Her operatic appearances include leading roles in works of Gluck, Mozart, Handel, Purcell, Richard Strauss, Tippett, Gounod; next year she will appear in a new opera by Peter Eötvös for the Bavarian State Opera.

She made her North American debut with the San Francisco Opera several seasons ago.  Ms. Burggraaf regularly gives recitals in the Netherlands, France, and the United Kingdom.  She is an ECHO Rising Star artist for 2009-10 and will appear in recitals throughout Europe.  This is Ms. Burggraaf’s New York recital debut. Jonathan Kelly is accompanying Cora Burggraaf.
