Augustin Hadelich Returns in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto

Violinist Augustin Hadelich, winner of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Juilliard graduate, joins the New York Philharmonic for Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. Hadelich, born in Italy the son of German parents, made his debut with the Philharmonic in 2010 during its annual summer residency at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. He stepped in at the last minute for an ill soloist and was asked back to perform again this past summer.


Under the direction of music director Alan Gilbert, the program also includes Gustav Mahler’s tour de force, the Symphony No. 5.
