At 19, Armenian native Narek Arutyunian won first prize in the 2010 Young Concert Artists International Auditions for clarinet performance. This month, at the ripe old age of 20, Arutyunian gives his New York recital debut at Merkin Hall with the exceptional American pianist Steven Beck.

Arutyunian may be a newcomer to performing in New York City, but internationally he’s performed at the Louvre Auditorium in Paris, the Palazzo del Principe in Genoa, with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra in the Czech Republic, and in Russia with the Kaliningrad Philharmonic and the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.
