The New York Times columnist James B. Stewart continues his look at U.S. taxation rates with some recent help from the people who ought to know – the Internal Revenue Service.

At Stewart’s request, the IRS sent him a lot of data. After analyzing it, he’s come to some conclusions about how tax policy really works. Stewart also takes a look at the Obama administration’s proposed changes in tax rules this week and at what the recent stock market surge means.
