Alan Gilbert conducts a program rich in color and imagery. Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été features mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato taking on the emotional texts by the romantic poet Théophile Gautier. Book-ending Berlioz is Steven Stucky’s Son et Lumière and Ravel’s orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
