The New York Philharmonic continues its Modern Beethoven series with guest conductor David Zinman leading the orchestra in Beethoven’s first and third symphonies. The two pieces bookend a performance by violinist Gil Shaham as the soloist for Hartmann’s Concerto funèbre for Solo Violin and String Orchestra.

Program details:

Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 1 in C Major, Op. 21.

Karl Amadeus Hartmann: Concerto funèbre for Solo Violin and String Orchestra.

Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 3, "Eroica."
