On Tuesday, Aug. 7 WQXR returned to the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. Violinist Lara St. John, composer-pianist Pablo Ziegler and colleagues paid homage to Argentine tango master Astor Piazzolla's 1987 Bandshell concert. They re-created that event with a program that includes some of the composer's most beloved works.

Joining St. John and Ziegler were guitarist Claudio Ragazzi, bandoneón player Héctor Del Curto and bassist Andrew Roitstein. Midge Woolsey hosts the event.

Please share your reactions to this live concert on Twitter using the hashtag: #wqxrsummer.

Should you enjoy virtuosa trumpet playing and Piazzolla's "Libertango," might I recommend two renditions on YouTube by Tine Thing Helseth and Alison Balsom.

"Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Astor Piazzolla's 1987 Central Park Concert in the Naumburg Bandshell"

I look forward to hearing this live in the park. I've been to all of the previous Naumburg concerts this season.
