In this November 1980 edition of This is My Music, Lloyd Moss interviews composer Marvin Hamlisch about his musical career on both coasts. Hamlisch discusses his creative process, his days as a student at Juilliard, the sound of Broadway scores, and several musical selections of his choosing.

Hamlisch discusses several favorite works including Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7 "Leningrad," in a performance by the New York Philharmonic, "Who will buy," from the musical Oliver!; an excerpt from Leonard Bernstein's On the Waterfront; and an etude by Alexander Scriabin, performed by Vladimir Horowitz.
